　　BEC Speaking Test: Part 1 (Interview)

　　Part 1 of the BEC Speaking test lasts approximately 2～3 minutes (4～5 minutes for a group of three). After some introductory questions, candidates are asked a personalized work-related question and a more general, work related question.

　　BEC Speaking Test: Part 2 (Mini-Presentation)

　　Part 2 of the BEC interview lasts about 5～6 minutes (7～8 minutes for groups of three). Each candidate is given a card listing three different topics. Each candidate chooses one of the topics on their card to talk about for 1 minute. The candidates are given one minute to prepare and may make notes. When prompted, Candidate 1 gives their talk while Candidate 2 listens but does not speak. At the end of the minute, Candidate 2 asks Candidate 1 a brief question about the talk and Candidate 1 makes a brief reply. The task is then repeated with Candidate 2 presenting and Candidate 1 listening and asking a question at the end.

　　BEC Speaking Test: Part 3: (Collaborative Task & Follow-Up Questions)

　　In Part 3 of the BEC Speaking test, which lasts about 5～7 minutes (7～9 minutes for groups of three), the examiner will give you and your partner a card that contains a business-related situation with two questions for discussion. You will have 30 seconds to read the card. The examiner will not participate in the discussion until the end when he or she will ask each candidate questions related to the topic.

　　The TOEIC Speaking Test is designed to measure a person’s ability to communicate in spoken English in the context of daily life and the global workplace. The test is composed of eleven tasks and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. The range of ability among English learners who will take the TOEIC Speaking Test is expected to be broad; that is, both very capable speakers and speakers of limited ability can take the test.

　　The test is designed to provide information about language ability to speakers across a range of language proficiency levels. To this end, the tasks are organized to support the following three claims:

　　1. The test taker can generate language intelligible to native and proficient nonnative English speakers.

　　2. The test taker can select appropriate language to carry out routine social and occupational interactions (such as giving and receiving directions, asking for and giving information, asking for and giving clarification, making purchases, and greetings and introductions).

　　What Is the TOEIC?

　　The TOEIC or Test of English for International Communication, is a standardized test given to non-native English speakers.

　　Who Uses TOEIC Results?

　　What Is on the TOEIC?

　　The traditional TOEIC only tests two skills: Listening and Reading. However, ETS, the makers of the TOEIC, have added a TOEIC Speaking and Writing Test to bolster the useful information a corporation may need to assess the competency of a job applicant. So technically, you should be prepared to showcase all four skills in English.

　　How Long is the TOEIC?

　　About 2 ½ hours

　　45 minutes for TOEIC Listening

　　TOEIC Listening

　　Many test-takers believe that the Listening portion of the TOEIC is the most difficult part of the test, even though it only runs approximately 45 minutes. Why? Both the questions (100 of them) and possible responses for Parts 1 and 2 are only spoken not printed. Parts 3 and 4 contain questions that are both printed and spoken, so it’s a little easier.

　　Sharpen up those vocabulary, grammar, parts of speech and comprehension skills, because the Reading Comprehension section is a doozy. ETS has redesigned sections of the TOEIC, so if you’ve looked at prep material before 2008, you should know there have been a few changes. You’ll sit for 70 minutes, and answer a total of 100 questions.

　　How's your ability to speak English? The TOEIC Speaking Test measures your ability to use English in your own life and throughout the course of your career. Anyone can take the test – it's designed so that people highly skilled with the English language and others not so skilled can both perform. You'll have 11 different tasks during this test, but will spend only about 20 minutes on it.

　　TOEIC Writing

　　Again, the TOEIC Writing Test examines testers newly writing in English all the way through proficient English writers.

　　How Is the TOEIC Scored?

　　Both the Reading section and the Listening section can earn you between 5 and 495 points on a scaled score range, so your total score can be anywhere from a 10 - 990. You'll receive a raw score from your correct answers, and that raw score will be converted to the scaled score.
